About the Author

Wafula Juma PMP

Wafula Juma is a Senior Infrastructure and Construction Project Manager and the co-founder of Telaran Africa, an independent infrastructure consulting practice. With over a decade of field experience delivering telecom tower programmes across Uganda and the wider East African region, he has overseen the successful delivery of more than 200 tower sites for leading MNOs and towercos operating across the continent.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Construction Management, is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), and has specialized in the full tower deployment lifecycle — from site acquisition, geotechnical assessment, and structural design through civil works, power systems, commissioning, and O&M governance. His experience spans the technical, commercial, and operational dimensions of tower infrastructure: the design decisions, the contractor management, the HSE obligations, and the business case that governs all of them.
